Deciding how to be great

It's not a bolt from the blue More innate knowledge Something is telling me I'd be amazing at making flavoured mustard Pretty much because I ate good mustard once Is that not where everything comes from? 'I can do that too' Oops I've got distracted This is a supermarket poem I'm now going to be a sushi chef Maybe there's wisdom here, maybe not I'm a poet in the land of wonderful ingredients...

Hot English mustard goes great on vegilink hot dogs! Do they have Vegilink and Nutmeat products in the UK, D? Has to be Keens mustard, though I would be interested to know your recipe for making your own.. loved your poem, hungry, must eat .. hooroo.

Look, I've been alarmed by your mention of nutmeat before haha! Nope - these brand names aren't available. There are loads of options now but I'm less inclined towards fake meat. I've bought mustard powder and mustard seeds and would perhaps combine them with honey or chilli or herbs but then I don't haha - I use the premade English mustard and wholegrain mustards. But these German ones I had in stone pots about 15 years ago were amazing!

I'm interested in flavored mustards, and also designer jelly. I already love your poetic creations. What's for dessert?

If I hadn't quit eating mammals, I'd still be putting good mustard on liverwurst, another of my favorite sandwiches.. not everyone likes it, I know.

Thank you Hilda - mustard is just amazing but I once acquired some in special stone pots made in Germany and it was just amazing. Nothing like that seems to be available in the UK. Thank you for your enthusiasm x

I love this so creative how you’ve delivered your thoughts. I know few that think they can do something just because they feel like it is easy, i love the mustard line the most. So deep. And the last line. And i have to say theres certain things i cant do. Like cooking.. but i can eat. Definitely .. i felt the hint of sarcasm flowing through this.if im not wrong, clever poem. Not many get it when im sarcastic. Pleasure always reading you

Thank you Ink - it's funny how easy something can look until you give it a go. I do prefer to doing things I have some immediate ability at though. There's really only driving I pursued against the clear lack of initial talent on my part. Thank you for your comment x

I can remember when I started writing memoirs, folks would say to me, "Oh I love to read memoirs and can write them.' Just because one likes something, doesn't mean one has the capacity or discipline to actually do it. I call it 'falacy in thinking.' Same is true of people who love to read poetry thinking that they can, therefore write poetry...not the same AT. ALL.

Haha I'm on the cusp of taking over the world should I ever lift a finger to make mustard. However I've made sushi at least three times and never triumphed beyond 'edible' haha

and dear poet of the unending aisles you choose the ingredients, the amounts thereof, the hints of, dashes, pinches and serving size....love that final line DD
