December

Delving in the dreamy depths, I look up Endearing all who behold my expressive eyes. Crawling into the dark to see contrast of light, Embers glow immaculately in my stupor. Married to the tenderness and comfort of family, Brave I am to stand in the wilderness of the unknown. Even in content I confess, Remembering the cold is what helps me cherish the warmth within. I love the wisdom of this portrait piece. Yes, we only know what's really wonderful, when in comparison to what is not ... you brought out this concept very well. "Endearing all who behold my expressive eyes" ... I've sent a Friend request, and so I very much agree with this line ... endearing and expressive ... it somehow seems really fitting that you would be born in December. You brought out your personality super well in this rather brief poem ... a fave!

this is a lovely one, very unusual, and that is a wonderful line "crawling into the dark to see contrast of light", that line makes the poem - congrats on your win in my contest!

Lovely concept of the warmth so much a part of winter, it truly keeps us united looking for warmth of the season. I like how you did a bit of a philosophical slant in this challenge. It's what I was trying for with September. HOpefully the contest judge will score this one high.

Do you have to be elves if someone who delves into the past which is your last? Brave Men was written by Ernie Pyle. That is my concept drinking coffee. Will be warmer inside then out and feel cooler outside. Jim Horn
