Death of a Telephone Salesman

Phone call after phone call Sometimes begging for a sale The man simply could not stay away from drugs Gone now to the other side After enjoying many`` highs I continued to work there Made plenty of sales But eventually quit Once a couple of us tried to unionize the place We didn't do it Death of a telephone salesman Happens all too soon In the field of telemarketing Often too soon

Must be such a soul destroying job. I try and be polite if I get a cold call but when they act like they are my 'new best friend' it makes me seethe. well written verse, Jan x

If they don't hang up on you, then they usually utter only two words, "not interested". You could sell them twenty dollar bills for nineteen dollars apiece, and they will still say "not interested". I can relate to this write.
