Death of a Nun

Her name was Sister Mary Mercedes Gleason, A tiny woman with so much wisdom and care, who belonged to the religious congregation - the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She lived a longer life: 98 years of age, amazing and a flashing mem’ry to all her imprint of life she shared with everyone she dedicated herself to the religious life. She died in sleep at the early hours of Tuesday, with serenity and less suffering thus far; what a beautiful soul! What a gift of holiness! truly, a woman of the Gospel in every sense. Her community grieved her loss and, at the same time celebrated for her new birth – that’s in heaven, in the life hereafter with her Maker; rejoicing with her triumphant journey with Him. She lived longer for higher purposes and meanings, embracing the challenges of being a religious; expressed in human language and good works, her examplary life manifested with piety and humility. With her balm of choice to love and be mindful of people around her in diverse moods and feelings; she would love to share with them even in moments with her caring presence to accost them with a smile. She’s history, memories and relationship in toto, Like everyone else, her life went on the calendar; Like a new chapter that says, ‘to live to die is gain.’ her own life is a testimony, an inspiration to all.
