Death

It sneaks up on you without warning. First you’re happy, now you're mourning. Sadness and agony is what you feel. Seems like an empty hole in your heart that can’t be filled. Wishing you took advantage of the time you had together. Thinking you’ll be an emotional train wreck forever. Wanting to see their contagious smile again. Seems like the sadness and pain will never end. Going day by day wishing they were still with you. Never being happy and joyful like you used to. Wanting to change things and redo the past. You know their love for you was unconditional and will forever last. Though you know death is inevitable, you pray it won't occur. It's a painful feeling you’re forced to endure. Something as old as time, that you’ve become accustomed to. It’s like a trap and you're trying to break through. Realization is the worst stage of grieving. Seems like without them, life has no meaning. You’ll soon understand. The separation is only temporary and you’ll see them once again. You’ll be sad and think about them each and everyday. You’ll miss them and their presence, but you know you’ll see them again, someday.
