Dearest Love
The days drift by without you
I long to look upon your face and touch your hand.
Summer has come and gone all too quickly.
The fleeting moments we shared
Are like time written in the sand
Washed away by the gentle waves of the sea.
To hold you, to love you, to dream
Thoughts of you drifting through my mind.
Why do I love you?
I need not search far the answer to find.
With you my heart, my soul, my spirit is free.
With you my heart soars like an eagle
To ever greater heights of joy.
You are ecstasy, the thundering drumbeat of my heart
And then . . . gentle, soft as a newborn colt.
Your love makes me whole
And I am you and you are me.
