Dear Sister,

I cry into my cereal and before I fall asleep. I cry into my pillow, so he won’t hear me weep. I cry when I’m alone and sometimes when I’m not. I cry when I am smiling, ‘cause tears are all I’ve got. I cry as I fold his laundry and at the kitchen sink. I cry as I write this letter, so sorry I smeared the ink. I cry until the world blurs and I can’t see where to go. I cry until my tears reach you… down the river they flow. I cry while in the bathtub and the water gets too deep. I cry while he lies next to me, but he never hears me weep.
