Dear Minister
Dear Minister
Do you know
The lament of the people you rule?
Rule in a world you aren’t invited to rule
The injustice of your mistakes we bear
While you smile and salute our money away
A catastrophe of governance
That you have caused
Mislead and cheated
Twisted and so corrupted
Where did you learn to master this art
Of keeping so many in the dark
About your numbers and fortune?
Alas the damage has been done
I ask out of innocent curiosity
Do you repent, are you admittedly guilty?
You wouldn’t believe if I said
An incredible example you have set
For I an eager youth
Will now not dare to join
A propaganda you call a profession, so spoilt
All your friends, enemies and you
Have made me protect my morals
And my cherished values
I’ve been driven away
By your wildfire of crimes
Learnt to keep my hands clean
To not to be made to bleed.
You’re no servant of democracy
You’re just an embodiment of hypocrisy
A shame that our country
Must submit to
A spot in our history
Of fools
With a humble request
Such as mine
I beg you on behalf of the people
Please don’t come back
Return our money
All the gold
Along with the gifts and bribes you hoard
Give us back all of that
Then turn yourself in
Leave this game
This arena that you have made
Full of cheaters
This is all I have to say
Thus I take my leave with a sigh
An insignificant plea
To voice the country’s cries
Free us of our plight
Thank you dear Minister
For your time
And for sucking our country dry.
