Dear Lord
This is my plea to you dear LORD,
A prayer; the quickest way I can afford,
With humility, my faith to you I accord,
And in you, you alone LORD,
I see, even In the darkness, a lit road.
I live by your Staff and rod.
By your command I’m guided; It is a road,
My soul and being; your laws never goad,
When by ills I’m gored,
You are my pillar LORD,
My faith and strength restored.
My God, my shield, my LORD,
You give me protection I can’t afford,
Your guidance and forgiveness, repeatedly you accord,
When I wrong you LORD,
You never desert me; you guide me to the road.
Occasionally you do not spare me the rod
Whenever I stray from the road.
Lucy and his servants goad,
And by cunning schemes; off your paths I’m gored,
But with your unending mercy, I’m restored.
Amen
