Dear Graduate

Dear graduate, this is a happy day. Your schooling’s done. I hope your folks are proud. Toss those caps to the sky. You’re on your way. Shout Hallelujah now, and shout it loud. But when the fanfare’s over, take some time to contemplate what next you want to do. Life is not easy; it’s an upward climb for most of us, but I have faith in you. Take some time to pray if you want to know what’s next for you. Seek guidance if you can from counselors, but right now, you’re aglow! Bask in success, young woman or young man. When celebration time is done, you’ll start life’s journey as you work toward each goal. Be diligent and show the world your heart. Trust in yourself; you are a worthy soul. Andrea, Seems this poem's protagonist is off to a great start in life. Reminds me of Baz Luhrmann's spoken word 'Wear Sunscreen'. "Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life ~~ The most interesting people I know Didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives ~~ Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't... ~~ But trust me on the sunscreen". -Richard

I see this is for a contest. In your job Andrea, you should show this to everyone that is seen fit to receive it. The poetry superb. The dedication to help on one's journey. Priceless.

I hope they are "aglow" this year. Last year was so disappointing for many as they missed prom and graduations were put off for months." Seek guidance if you can from counselors, but right now, you’re aglow!" Well said.
