Dead Letters

i used to watch them dance on the end of my tongue like dead men walking the plank performing their final ritual the end of the diving board one last turn to salute me then they would burst into flames they knew their time to burn had come every word I said to you nothing but dead letters The end of the line with my ex wife, every word I spoke was falling on deaf ears.

I guess that is when they came to the end of the line way before us Travis and nothing we could say would make a difference to the way they felt about us but the just didn't have the guts to tell us...really frustrating but now they are ex's and if nothing else they left us with a legacy to make us create good poetry...Allie
