Days In the Country
Our country days have begun
With lots of plans for endless fun
Laughter fills the very air
In this beautiful country fair.
Oh my, what a thrill
Playing on the pretty hills
Lying on the mossy slopes
Waving to the country folks.
Off we run after a ball
Trying hard not to fall
Running and shouting with glee
Flying like a bumble bee.
We gaze in childlike wonder
When we hear the sound of thunder
Oh, how could we stop our play
On this our first country day.
But we knew God had sent
The rain, yet our hearts were bent
We thanked Him for our play
And hoped for a another day.
