An ekphrastic poem

It's quiet now, they all have gone Leaving litter, and last light softens what was too bright before Blackbird singing in the dead of night you ask if I need help, I nod lend me for once your wings The coloured quilt as sun does drown a blanket against whining waves I dive, depart. I flew so high *** October 15, 2017 Copyright © Darren White

I just want to cry it has worked a spell on me and put me in another's place. There are times I can feel my body actually trying to lift me. I know it sounds crazy but you already know I'm a couple degrees of centre.

If you are, so am I. This is actually a poem you can read on many levels, one of them meditation. Yes, I meditate :)

ekphrasis is using a work of art (like a painting, music) to create another work of art. Sort of what you do too. So you don't describe the painting, but instead let the feeling it evokes in you guide you. In fact this poem was written around a real painting, but I have no permission from the painter. I used a photo that comes close instead.
