Day's End

Day's end, when the curtain is pulled across the land I sit and watch and drink in the beauty that I see Shadows by the gate spread and cover the garden Until only the faint outline of the day is left to me The scent of evening comes sweetly on the breeze Lavender from the field, damp earth near the pond Trailing roses brush my cheek, and the crickets call Content with the now, no thought to the days beyond

The sights, scents and sounds really shine in your words, LNC. It sounds so peaceful being "content with the now" and not thinking about the future. I hope you are feeling that way now. Very uplifting and serene. Love, Carolyn

While reading, I rmembered wordsworth's lines we have no time to stand and stare, but I think you have to enjoy the scent of the evening, Barbara
