Daydreams Rising

Submerged in the clearness of its depths Lost in the promise of cool caress We floated on endless summer days Our daydreams rising to azure skies In its still waters we learnt to swim And from its bounty we were sustained We left youthful footprints on its banks Memories still flow from deep within But time has tossed the stormy waves on the oceans of life's journey, and now the river flows so impatiently Taking youthful memories to sea 12-12-2016

Congratulations Joseph! Wonderful metaphor for coming of age - "the river flows so impatiently - taking youthful memories to sea." Beautiful images of the sea and the seaside. All the best.

The sea is not only a playground, but also a source of sustenance for us. Embrace these memories, Joseph. I felt like I was swimming with you as you left your footprints on the banks. There were many extraordinary poems in this contest. Congratulations on a well-deserved win! And thank you for supporting the contest. Hugs, Carolyn

Excellent write Joseph, loved the metaphor, and the personification in this write. There's a few levels in this piece that merits a second and third read.
