Day Wash
The light switches on
Nothing to shame
Bearing all to the hilt
Face washed in guilt
A splash of recollection
& no longer reflection
So dark…so sparse as past premonitions
Swooning and swaying, all the while
children's laughter and mothers tears
collaborate in our heads and fill our ears
Its not the you so much or the me,
But what could be
Should or shouldn’t….can't say
It’s the times we have
These things we are
It's all of these poured in a jar
It's all the same
These days we blame
Ourselves
Everyone
Not alone in this cold world of dreams
Naked and sprawled on cold concrete
I'm sorry we had to meet this way
