Day of Summer
Son,look the sun is out
big and hot up the elm tree
Come look at the new shadow
of the shy ant, you and me.
Hurry,go sit by the meadow
an ear out for the repartee
of the shrill caw of the crow
and the dim hum of the bee.
Let's grab our ham and cheese
eat it by the sea of old trees,
and sip in the wet ale of breeze.
Boy, dip in the day of summer,
ere the gay hot sun is dimmer
and the red hue not so glimmer.
