Dawn
We are standing tall and proud
Couragous, determined, independent
Like my Father, we share these traits
A gift from him to thee
But he is he and I am me
He called me Dawn
Our hair is gold, eyes are green
Passionate, understanding, liberal
Analogous to my Mother
It's very plain to see
But she is she and I am me
She calls me Dawn
On bended knee prayers are said
Enlightened, spiritual, honest
Grandma and Grandpa taught me these
Held within a memory
But they are they and I am me
They called me Dawn
We soar among the Heavens
Free-spirited, adventurous, carefree
Qualities shared with my Uncle
Between us mountains and the sea
But he is he and I am me
He calls me Dawn
We are bound by love and blood
Inner-strength, devotion, admiration
Like my sister, we are as one
Yet have our own identity
For she is she and I am me
She calls me Dawn
Together we rise each morning
Radiating, glorious, breathtaking
As daybreak we start anew
Spreading our light and warmth
For I am you and you are me
We call each other Dawn
