edgar allen poe: he died on my birthday, but before i was born and before the beginning of the civil war. he might have enjoyed the pale horse of that day, as he endured the hellish bells, bells, bells & belted the raven’s forevermore. sylvia plath: loved to take blood baths, hated tulips, and was born twenty days after my birthday, many years before. i was introduced to her bell jar in my high school years. james mercer langston hughes: he invests in the euphrates, congo, nile, mississippi (m - i- double “s” - i - double “s” - i - double “p” - i) rivers, where his soul has grown deep. robert lindley: the soup’s own dark poet, emotions worn on his sleeve, he watches the waters flow from the riverbank & returns from ashes and dust darkness falls and delivers 7/21/2022

All of these images, the dark to heighten the light as well. This is the world we live in. Shall we compare ourselves to the greats. No, we write our own and indulge in their creativity. God bless! Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. I had a lot going on this weekend. Be blessed!

I never rate myself to be in the illustrious company of those three great poets but I do my best to present elements of dark poetry in my writings. I do so because they represent a part of life and a part of my own life whilst wading through this dark world. As is the current case now, with my grievous loss.. God bless...

My friend, your poem reveals that the merits of dark poetry are indeed an important party of the history of poetry. Although some shun that part, that beauty of talent expressed by the socalled- dark poets- especially the magnificent genius of Poe- I find it to be integral to the understanding of Poetry and Humanity.
