Darkness

Darkness brings shadows eerie shapes appear Things look spooky when there’s no one here Nothing looks the same when the day turns into night The least little noise can bring fear and fright The corners of the rooms are dark and black Things won’t be the same until the light comes back Floorboards creak as the house settles into calm Darkness is upon us but it won’t do any harm Sleepy eyes are shutting and it’s time to go to bed Darkness is here so it’s time to rest my head Why do things seem worse when the night is here? Laying and waiting for the daylight to appear Worrying and wondering about stupid things Then listening to the chorus as the early bird sings The sun rises in the sky and with it comes the day Dark and dismal shadows are going away What was all the worrying about during the night? Nothing seems as bad in the daylight.

Hi Pamela: Thank you for yor honest opinion of my poem. I can not tell you how much it means to me to get feedback from another poet. Your poem "Darkness" is really great. It brought back memories when laying in my bed at night, I would imagine monsters under my bed and killers in my closet. Have a fantastic day!!!. yours truly: S.M.

Night can be scary especially if one hears something or feels that something is not right. Nicely done. Thanks for the comments on mine. Keep writing. Sara
