Dark Hearts

Evil larks in the dark hearts of men Impure, tainted love Makes it hard to love again Anger in their eyes, Places fear in my soul A feeling I’ve come to know all too well That can put a chill through my bones Full of disappointments And cries of fear Puts burning fire below all who come near He stalks the shadows Throughout the night He’s hurt me once He’s hurt me twice And once more, Before the dawning of the light.
