Dark Days of Reverie
Written by Broken Wings
I am thinking today of my sweet cat,
She is buried in the shade of a tree;
My sadness is so deep and dark Lord,
Why give this love and take it away?
I have put to rest so many,
Pets full of unconditional love;
My heart is shattered each time,
Each time, I have to bury love.
My grievance demonstrates my love,
Shedding another tear for my cat;
Oh sadness I miss her tender touch,
I wish my precious pets were here.
Sorrow lays beneath a tree,
I stare in wonder to heaven;
Are my pets looking down at me?
With heartache, I say goodbye.
