Daring Greatly

Dedicated to my counsellor, Ann Gunapalan I was once a little girl in the closet My shame, I wanted to conceal and forget I’ve come a long way and I thank God for you For wholehearted empathy that rings true Thank you for coaching me in the arena For helping me face my wounds and trauma For helping me embrace vulnerability For showing me what it means to dare greatly I see vulnerability at the cross When Christ chose to embrace shame for the lost He’s taken our guilt and shame; we are now free Free to love with wholehearted empathy I was once a little girl in the closet My shame, I wanted to conceal and forget I’m still a little girl, but now without shame For in Jesus Christ, I have a new name
