Dare To Love

Shall I say I care yet not dare show I do? Your looks lock onto my eyes: the charm, the shine spells me pale. I try to brace up flickering courage, but fumble——fear pecks at my heart; alone, I'm lost hugging a dumb hearth all night, weeping. My eyes redden at dawn...bulge at the budding white rose drooping in glistening dew. I can't just bear the flare in my heart. Oh... I dare not! © 2016 Celestine S. Ikwuamaesi
