Danced Across the Square
oh dear what a wonderful sight
a dancing skeleton in full flight .
umbrella open like Fred Astaire
he danced and pranced across the square.
people cheered at his grace,
who was the man behind that face.
he grasped my hand and led me forth
amazed and embarrassed tried to talk
who are you, I asked as I twirled
what cheek you have just to grab a girl
his face looked sad as to his knees he sunk
looked up at me this beautiful hunk.... whispered
"will you marry me". producing a dazzling ring
the very one we had looked at, in the spring
I smiled gave a jig because I knew....
whispering yes.... said "May I dance through life with you"..
contest:. May I dance with you, .
