Dad

I know how much that you care for me, that you care deeply for your family. That it is always the wee details in life that matter. The big picture seems to unfold as time goes on. From teaching my sister and I how to walk, ride our bikes, to eventually learning how to drive our cars... and so much more than that. You have taught us about loyalty, holding on and sometimes letting go. You have taught us something about swimming in shark infested waters ... that it can be done when there is a hope of a goal to be obtained. That riches are more than just gold... riches are the people and life's experiences that are in between. Seeing how you live and love is likened to watching Father God take care of not just His children, but everyone, and taking care of all things in in His vast and unending universes. My wish for you dad, my dream for you is for your dreams to keep you warm, for God's love to hold you close and take you far... for your wounds of life to heal, for you to never worry... then for you to meet mom and my brother Tommy up there again. Then you will never be parted as you hold hands, to be where the sun is bright, to where unkindness and ignorance of others exists no more. poem dedicated to my dad - poem written by S.E. Clark
