Cupid Injurious Commuted

A tiny figure bronze dark buffed translated I would be,
my bow transformed an olive branch of silver filigree,
each arrow yet transmuted into leaves of evergreen --
the world transfigured luminous on Cupid's death serene.
* * *
a dedication of Respect
for
the countless Victims of love's
vile tyranny
a revolving helios rhyme menippean satire on
the popular, sentimental, romanticized notion of
Cupid,
e'er flighty and blind
the child beguiled
february, 2023 -- the form and dignity of Reason
shapeshifting yet into the thing
