Crumpled Paper

A longing ghost enticed my mind And brushed a painting for me to find Of your face that haunts me so And there it dwells while fading slow Among the ruins where shadows play Are illusions that try to stay They cross the bridge from painful times And echo sounds from broken rhymes While leaving poems to be found Along a road of ancient ground With hopes they're opened by a hand Before they sink in shifting sand 12/31/16 contest Form C (couplet )

Love the way you did this challenge. Couplets are probably one of the most popular of all the forms and I like that you did not use too many. This is the perfect amount of them for what you wanted to say and the title is very fitting.
