Crematorium

dead bones rise in ashes, furnace spews clouds smelling putrid smoke, tongues consume bodies all, aeolian whispers fan Varanasi’s fierce appetite, prayer flags wave like a wick of hope while the ruddy Ganges silently flows

I agree w/the other poets/poetesses ... this poem has vivid, brilliant imagery, Phil. I think I will try my hand at this form. This poem is a dark beauty for sure. Filing it in the fave section. Excellent poem. Wonderment seen thru your inked eyes. Love and smiles always.

I agree with Harry, this poem is brilliant and very thought provoking. I have never written an Etheree but this interesting and deep creation you have conceived leads me to now consider doing so.. A fav....

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I don't know why my religion says we should be buried. Cremation is a good way to go. I love etheree and I think you did a splendid job painting the scene of it. At first I thought it was about the World War 2 era and their death furnaces. But Ganges river told me a different story.

Thanks so much Andrea for your comment, it is greatly appreciated. No one likes to think of these things until its time but death and what to do with the earthly vessel is inevitable. Namaste.

I am with Akkina on this one, Phil. Very well written, but very disconcerting. I want to be cremated when I die, but now I'm not so sure! ;) By the way, thanks for your lovely post on my poem. Much appreciated.
