Creatures of the Night
The sky is black,
the stars all hidden away.
The cold outdoors,
is somewhere I shall not stray.
Not tonight,
this night of All Hallows' Eve.
For the creatures that lurk in the shadows
are those of childhood disbelief.
Our nightmares become reality,
transformed under the moonlight.
Some think it's all pretend,
just to give us the feeling of fright.
We become these creatures,
that we portray.
Hidden behind the masks,
deep in the shadows we play.
We all become something,
in which we feel most comfortable.
The evil become vampires,
sucking the life out of the vulnerable.
Teachers and parents show their kindness,
by becoming the superheroes we idolized.
Celebrities and the rich become magicians,
the masters of keeping us hypnotized.
Whatever our demons may be,
they make an appearance this night.
This night of All Hallows' Eve,
without the stars shining down their light.
I'll be staying away from the shadows,
and the creatures which linger inside.
Hidden in the lights,
is where I shall reside.
