Covering the Pain
What can I now pronounce
my own restore
laid back, but as a witness
pain galore!
What can I utter peacefully
the tears and sighs implore
in arrogance they walk away
in solace are no more!
At last the victim's countenance
is given to explore
what can I say that's not uncouth
my anger's not a toy!
Your peaceful prayers have purpose
my hurt is but construe
remembering your vigil
what can I say to you!
You've never felt such agony
your life spring's all brand new
just one small laugh, if I could quaff
the rest not seem so blue!
I'll pray for Hope's remission
this trouble to come through,
and even some contrition
my enemies to all view!
Then hand in hand with reason
I'll travel on ~ adieu ~
in requiem for the Season . . .
Christ must have known this too!
