Court Jester
Court Jester
I have been made to play the king’s jester’s fool
Dancing around the majesty’s imperial pool
His queen laughs heartily not knowing my pain
To be their constant entertainment is my distain
They make me a spectacle for all the court to see
Then toss me out like a stray dog covered in fleas
What makes me different from royalty was my birth
To a family in the wrong gene pool is my life’s curse
What makes them superior is their royal blood line
But who made that decision to make them divine?
Was it God or man who put them in their high place?
Why was I born into a lifetime of mockery and disgrace?
Aren’t we the same underneath our rags or royalty clothes?
Our bodies we have in common but it’s my blood they loath.
You have been born royalty wearing your sovereign ring
But when I die I will live in eternity with the one true King
So, go ahead have your fun and make me your king’s fool
For in heaven I will receive my own golden crown of jewels
