Courage
Courage, is having to live every second, every minute, every hour,
One day at a time without my only born child
Unbidden tears surge from my inner marrow
Rummaging my mind, disarming my armor
Adapting, trying to continue to exist
Gingerly masquerading my wearisome grief
Extinguishing my burning embers

Always having faith in God
This is what courage means to me
This poem was inspired by a cousin and her only child. He was murdered 7 years ago at the age of 16 in front of his home. Her grief is still like the first time it happen when she held him in her arms while he was dying . I just cannot fathom how she can coup with everyday life.
