Couples
Not long ago they shared as one
Each thought was precious; each day was fun
Now hours drag by, never regained
No words are spoken - silence remains
They're building walls with indifference as mortar
Sharp words are used to expand the border
Unwilling to break through walls of silence
They can't find agreement, only defiance
No closeness, no goals, no support, no caring
Their paths have parted; they exist without sharing
Life's journey seems endless; they've come just so far
Cold spirits don't grow as they seek whom they are
Silence is a heavy, decaying sensation
They search for aloneness in retaliation
They've lost personal confidence they knew before
They wither and wilt as they daily mature
Where did their paths part? What day did it start?
They're every day lonely with heavy hearts
They look for a crossroad to meet again
Re-build as partners and remain as friends
