Conundrum

I believed for just one moment I let my guard down and fell into the trap Was deceived once again Life has shown that all is not as it appears – it’s worse I decreed I know I said I’d be on my toes and vigilant, but even the best can fail Did bleed the worst part of belief, for me, is seeing my heart ripped from my chest again I concede with each deceit it gets harder and harder to want to continue to fight Aching need no matter the pain or frustration, I still want a belief … in something I believed In people once more and lost … but there’s hope New found creed no matter how cynical I become I will try … Life is good
