Controlling Love

Don’t try to control you when I want my own way. I am confused at the things that you say. It’s not control to want these things that everyone else gets so freely. To be cherished and loved by you completely. You think its control because you don’t want to change. You like where you’re at, everyday is the same. Refusing to move forward, you like playing your game. It shows when you give out of want, You don’t have to pretend. You don’t put up a front. I can see, your true feelings they show That you are stuck on the past, refusing to let go. That is why you think its control You don’t give freely, your love doesn’t grow. Hoping the tides someday will turn In reality you lose, bridges you burn. The cycle repeats and you’re in it again, Playing the same game with someone new instead. Live in the moment, let go of the past. I didn’t want to control, only wanted your best.
