Contagious Laughter

I hear a stranger, Laugh from across the room, It catches my attention. immediately makes me smile, Without intention. He laughs again. This time louder. My teeth are now showing, My smile has become broader. I feel the need to look over there, who’s laughing? Who’s smiling? Who’s sitting in that chair? He has tears in his eyes. He’s grinning from ear to ear. He can’t contain his movement. Almost like he’s moving in rhythm, Like a dance of happy attunement. I look around the room, notice everyone is looking. But he doesn’t care, He’s too busy enjoying the moment, He doesn’t care about the stares. Everyone is smiling soon, these strangers, in this room, are all starting to smile too. Some are even laughing, to a story they never knew. And never shall. But it doesn’t matter, the joy in this man, has brought joy to us all. 5/5/2018 Kale Brereton
