Consigned To Dreams
Man's conceit overrides His shame
of endangered species dying.
And refusing to accept blame,
He denies His lack of trying.
Vast migrating herds have been culled,
due to the population boom.
And those numbers are unequaled,
their deaths justified to make room.
Small countries with limited space;
burns forests so cattle can feed.
And spreading at a frantic pace,
enormous profits finance greed.
Zoos are a fruitless endeavor,
and yet, that doesn't matter, it seems.
For what's lost stays lost forever
when nature gets consigned to dreams.
Man’s pension for the ax and gun
means death's steadily encroaching.
And insane wars that can't be won
ensure Mans's end is approaching.
