Conservation Walk
Days of walking in the conservation area,
With relatives and friends.
You would walk along the shores and view the lilies,
They would unfold and smile at you.
Their perfect shape and the green liiy pad,
You hear the sounds of the environment.
Walking along you see the willow tree with the branches dipping in the lake,
Wildflowers encompass the lake.
I like to pick a wild bouquet and put them in a vase at home,
Good memories from long ago.
Stop at the top of the hill,
I sit on the picnic bench and gaze at the lake,
You could hear the frogs singing their songs,
They hop on each others back, quite comical.
I walk on and there are beautiful sunflowers and tall spruce and pines,
The geese are gathered on the banks of the lake.
The mallard ducks swim towards the dam,
There are beautiful huge goldfish swimming in the water.
A Tai Chi group exercises by the lake,
Now and then you see a swan gliding past.
What an enhanced experience,
A good way to spend the day.
