Conquered
The cool breeze soothes
The wounds on my cheek
The night is quiet, not even a peep
The stars shining bright, in the ebony sky
It gives me hope that I'll be alright...
The sidewalk stands firm, under my feet
I lean against the wind, and softly breathe
Exhaling the pain, discomfort, defeat..
Igniting the strength that lies inside me
I open my eyes, sore from the crying,
I need the help, I'm not denying..
A change needs to happen, and it starts
Right now,
I'll hold my head high, as high as the clouds
Wipe away the tears, and know my wounds will heal
With time and resilience, I will prevail.
I can't do it alone, I'll have to reach out
For others for guidance and I will not pout
When obstacles occur, I'll face them head on
And I will conquer...
