Compromise

“Compromise is only a weakness between two who are unwilling to work together”. In the tapestry of love, two souls entwined, Marriages, a journey to perfect, beautifully designed. Imperfect hearts melding in a dance, A union of flaws, a second chance. Discussion, the compass in the maze of the mind, Seeking the truth, the answers to find. Not to overpower, nor to lay blame, But to illuminate the path, the passion's flame. Arguments, not battles, but lessons to learn, Discovering truths, for wisdom to earn. In the clash of opinions, let insight arise, A bridge to understanding, where empathy lies. Yet, in compromise, a shadow may fall, When unwilling hearts build a dividing wall. A weakness not inherent, but a choice to sever, The ties that bind, a bond to endeavor.

Jay, I see so much more in your poetry then you write. A talented poet is able to make readers delve a little deeper on their own to go down paths that are open by suggestions or insinuations. You do that.

Jay, your poem beautifully unfolds the delicate dance of love and partnership. The imagery of imperfect hearts merging, discussions as a compass, and arguments as lessons paints a nuanced picture of the intricate dynamics in relationships. The caution about compromise becoming a weakness resonates deeply, emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding and choice in sustaining the bonds that connect us. A thoughtful exploration of the complexities within the layers of love! - Blessing, Daniel

this is a truly masterful poem, Jay. You've captured the need for compromise in a relationship. Your perspective is refreshing. I liked 'arguments, not battles, but lessons to learn.' Such truth and wisdom in those words and in each line of your well crafted poem. Enjoy your day, Sara
