Comments: Quality Or Generic

Quality comments wanted Generics need not apply “Cute one,” she said. “Funny,” he wrote. (I’d written the poem while I cried) “Points” are given for comments left Some writers just copy and paste Such comments show poems were not read To muster points, they’re left in haste Poets always see the difference When their verse was actually read So if you have no time to read Pass the poetry by instead For the Views versus Comments contest

Congratulations Diane. Well said. Yes, sometime the comments don't fit the poem at all and I wonder why they bothered. Love, Joyce

That second line is telling and cutting. It reminds me of e.e. cummings. I like this in passing. It says more with a second reading than one should expect. REgards, Gerard

good words on a point relavant to all here although it goes with the (turf) i would think, i feel that''poetry''is a gift to us and that we inhabit a temporary life.i do not feel that i own the poems that i pen, i feel priveledged that they present themselfs to me, and wish them to be enjoyed, by any who would find time to read them. by the way thank for your intrest & comment.

Good write on this topic that has been introduced for poetic discussion.Reads like a winner to me.I always try to read one if I go there but sometimes don't leave very good comment more or less generic for several reasons. But I have read the poem.Sometimes I read a poem or part of a poem _ don't leave a comment because I know that I can't say anything good. Thanks for the comments on my poem "Novel Idea".I have one person who attends the church where we go that is doing this(button pushing)..Sara

I should rather call it a Gem of Poem. You have made an X-ray of those actions, which are often practiced by some Poets, who perhaps do not have time to read the full poem. You have the sparks to capture the instincts and to give us some really beautiful poems in the time to come. My good wishes for your contest and for your meaningful writings. Many thank for your precious comments on my poem 'Song of a Teenage Girl' Love and best wishes...Ravindra....Diane Locksley

Unfortunately, this is true about some of the poets here. I personally prefer to really read something and only comment when I like it. Enjoyed your sense of realism in this one and you're so right, you can so tell when someone comments and does not even read the poem. But maybe sometimes those who comment don't understand the real meaning of the poem and they just get confused and say something not really related to the write. I really read this one, honestly:)Hugs, Emilia
