Comfy Cozy

Come over here, my sweetie pie. Tell your honey what’s wrong. I sense you're sad, but this is me. You don’t have to act so strong. I’ve been down here in the kitchen Just waiting for you, honey ‘chile. Come here and take a load off. Stay with me, babe, for a while. I’m having a midnight snack; Hot cocoa with whipping cream. Why don’t you join me, Sugar? Please sit and chat with me. I know you are feeling downhearted. But I’m happy you finally came down. Let me fix you a bit to eat, For I so hate to see you frown. If you’d rather, just lay your head on my lap. Tell mama your every woe. Go ahead, Sweetheart, let it out. Let those demons just go. Are you feeling better now, darling? I see you are eyeing that cake! Insomnia got us both, but now I’m enjoying being awake. Now that you finally came out of your shell And shared what was making you blue, I could stay up all night until dawn, dear, As long as I stayed here with you.

In this case, insomnia was a blessing, Andrea. Lovely entry for the contest and I wish you success. As for "Christina's World," Christina Olson did suffer from muscular degeneration. I learned that in the store when my mother bought the photo for my room and then reconfirmed it on the internet before posting the poem. Andrew Wyeth is a great painter! Love, Carolyn

Well I thought it was aMommy or Grandma talking to her child, but then that's me. Anyway it is very sweet. In answer to your question for we Lutherans it comes on the first Sunday in November. Red candles for the newly come, White candles for the lately dead. Love, Joyce
