Comfort Food

Breakfasts of strawberry pancakes Hot and made with love, A regular childhood occurrence In kitchen where odors of love and comfort Soothed the hurt the bully left And made one feel stronger. One pulls courage from comfort food Strength from those who care, For the bully is actually a coward Who preens and acts the bantam.
