Come To Bed Dear
He said "Come to bed dear, I have a sweet surprise",
I just sighed, put my book down, then I rolled my eyes.
He said "Come to bed dear, I have something special for you",
I gave him a quizzical look, wondering what he was going to do.
He said "Come to bed dear, join me if you dare",
I almost laughed my head off, right then and there.
He said "Come to bed dear, don't stand and laugh at me",
My curiosity was piqued by now I just couldn't wait to see.
He said "Come to bed dear, tomorrow you can read your book",
I thought to myself, oh dear I know that look.
He said "Come to bed dear, take my hand I'll lead you there",
Halfway up the stairs, he had to stop to catch some air.
He said "Come to bed dear I promise we'll still have fun",
I wasn't sure, I almost turned to run.
He said "Come to bed dear, I'll just pay a visit first,
My mouth had gone dry with laughter, I needed to quench my thirst.
He said "Come to bed dear", but I really needed to wee,
He said "I'll still be awake when you return, I'll bet you 20p".
I knew he wouldn't be, I wasn't quite that dense,
Yes you've guessed it, he still owes me twenty pence.
