Come and find me in my solitude Look for me behind closed doors Find me in the deepest closets Trembling like the cold has found me Under beds. Come and find me in my solitude In the dark tendrils of my mind Help me to find me outside my prison The frightful demons of my nights And days. Come and find me in my solitude Look for me and don't let go Hold my hand and warm me Force me to daylight, face myself Heal me. Come and find me in my solitude Sit next to me and hold me Be here with me and don't judge me Be my friend, just love me, just be Just be. *** December 5, 2016 *** 10th place in contest:  COME AND FIND ME IN MY SOLITUDE Sponsor: Mystic Rose

Congrats my friend... Nice competion by Mystic Rose... My next contest needs to be more like my first contest; which is like this. 10th place feels good... it's a sigh of relief and a breath of fresh air.

Ir0nic ZiNk, thanks. It was a competition like, I saw that subject line on the contest page and I was immediately sold. It resonated, I just had to... And yeah, 10th place IS good, I am happy with it.

Janis, thank you for recognizing that. I just had to weite something with that beautiful quote, and at the same time I knew it would be difficult.

YOU nailed depression in soooo many of your lines, what especially resonates with me is 'force me to daylight' - WOW. When I lived with suicide ideology, I longed for a presence who would force me out! To me, this is hard hitting with accuracy and should have placed much higher. Everyone is so different, eh? All the best ... CayCay

I think only people who have been there understand the controversy between seeking that solitude seemingly yourself, that isolation, BUT wishing to be rescued, to be seen, to be understood. To this day I am on suicide watch, so yes, I know what you mean. We'll speak! - Darren

Congrats on your placement, Darren. I especially loved the phrase "in the dark tendrils of my mind".

Hi Darren, and thanks for your visit to my page, I like the above write & can't see why you need to withdraw it from the contest, you never can read the way someone else sees a write, I have done some poems I'd have thought would stand good chances, but they never got a spot.' So just goes to show..'

Hi Joe, I am sometimes doubting whether a poem so personal isn't too much. And yeah, you are completely right. So I re-entered the poem and will not withdraw it again. Thank you.

A very sad poem, Darren. In my solitude, I search for peace. Outsiders seem to clutter my world.

It's why I doubted whether to participate or not. My solitude is not voluntary and it is often a lonely existence. I am happy to have found love in my life though :)

Yes, that was my initial reaction too. But when I looked closer it was so fitting, I just had to use it...

"Three strikes, you're out." But wait - Darren, you're the pitcher, here, and you just did a great job. No reason at all why this isn't perfect for the contest. Two days ago, I soup-mailed Mystic Rose about the "LET YOUR IMAGINATION TAKE FLIGHT *" in the contest description. I was curious about that little asterisk, wondering if it signified anything I should pay attention to. Fast, sweet reply I got, saying no, just that imagination is very much encouraged.

It pays to be sure. And I've seen where a substantial percentage of entries to contests don't follow the rules - the contest originators posting an update saying, "Hey, a bunch of you are not doing it right - please fix or withdraw your poems."

Thank you so much for the encouragement :) I sometimes have problems with understanding exactly what is required for a contest, plus sometimes the fine nuances of the language elude me.
Date: 12/5/2016 12:02:00 AM
I think this is really good!!! I think even thought it's about a forced solitude, it is still solitude, and should be fine for the contest?

Oh, I don't mind at all to be alone. What I am writing about here is a different kind of solitude :)

Rick, a solitude-lover here too. On the flipside, there are people who really, simply cannot stand to be alone.

Thanks Rick, I withdrew it from the contest, because this solitude is not a chosen solitude and I think that is not completely right :)
