Colors Parade As Leaves
Somber meditative leaves fell forgotten, bit by ice
Turned red and yellowed down becoming brown
Sanguine lingering’s floated on a carefree colder wind
Hang stationary on infinity dismissed
Separated from trees, becoming dry remnants, morbid
Colored crisp corps carried to the forest floor
As so many, so much more, never seen above again
Frost saw to that
Now blended with Fall foliage
Undergrowth and underbrush proved to be too much
Some leaves finish in solitude’s pile perished
No safety in numbers for them
Covered over for their own protection
Leaves should never see reality as it really is
They were created for visual beauty
To float forever up and away
Moving colors in their own parade
