Colors In the Sky

"Two doves in white flying, feathers glow beneath the morning's rainbow colors" -- Charles Messina A purple haze above the spectral rim Of dusk’s horizon, orange and golden, Against the gray of cirrostratus clouds Capturing the magic of this day’s end. I see faint blends of magenta and rose Reflecting on the ocean’s ebbing tide As the sun slips slowly into tomorrow A reddish disc flinging up blurry hues Its dying wish restored in dawn’s light, Vibrant yellows in crystal shimmering Across the waters quickly darkening As glorious dusk becomes ebon night.

I was writing a short story, a few days ago, the idea of the protagonist coming across an unknown color, never seen before, occurred to me. at a certain point, the protagonist is appalled and thinks to himself: but this color is so evident... how does it not exist yet and is it not common knowledge? I finally left it to develop this theme later, in a science fiction story, but I already know where to get the color palette: I'm going to look among the tones and hues of this beautiful poem, milton

Your lines are uniquely colorful and run the spectrum of the everchanging shades of the sky. Nicely constructed, Milt.

Stunning imagery, Milton. Best wishes in the contest. I'm sure I'll read more of your poetry before you head to Puerto Vallarta, but before I forget...safe travels my friend. Enjoy the trip and the "Colors in the sky" Charlie

I certainly believe this, Tom. I have a scheduled trip to Puerto Vallarta in a few weeks, and I'm looking forward to the beautiful sunsets across the bay, among the most beautiful in the world.
