Coldblooded

His long, sleek, diamond clad body,
more coldblooded than vampires;
no second life offered his prey.
Lying in venomous wait,
he'll rattle you with a warning
while aiming his deadly kiss.

Your poem has a scary feel to match the real thing. I was bitten by a rattlesnake a few years back.

Reads like a winner..I faced a rattler in my herb garden a few years back..When I first saw it, I thought it was a chicken snake like we have around here..Then I saw its diamond shaped head and knew it was venomous..I had a knife in my hand about 6 inches or maybe 8 inches long..I tried to stab it with the knife..It coiled and prepared to strike with its mouth open and fangs showing..When it dropped to crawl off, I tried to get it right behind its head with the knife..Scary episode..SK
