Cold Sweats and Tears

I woke in a debilitating fright- Cold sweats and tears; Night after night- My subconscious played on my fears. It wasn't short lived... In fact, it went on for years.. The fear was undoubtedly real As was the pain; I begged it to yield, But still it remained. I had sought an escape, From what had seemed to me- As my irrefutable fate; But oftentimes I'd been too late.

Some poetry can be swallowed whole, but yours needs to be consumed bit by bit—savoring each morsel. Tragic in its way, yet not immune from triumph. I enjoyed reading this.

A good start, but try to work on not being so predictable.
